Gingerbread House 2018

We are pleased to announce that the gingerbread house for 2018 has been revealed! Our model this year was the stunning Château de Chenonceau, one of the most magnificent of the many chateaux that we visited during our time in France this past July. For those who are not familiar with this tradition of ours, since 1997 we have made a gingerbread version of an architectural landmark as part of our holiday decorations; past efforts saw us render Moscow’s Church of Christ the Redeemer; Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany; Exeter Cathedral in England; and the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet, in gingerbread. The rules are that the house must be 100% edible, and must be of a building that we visited during the year. The house will be on display at the lodge through the holidays, so if you’ll be staying with us, you can look forward to seeing it in person; for the rest of you, here is a photo:
